Mid-Season Recap

Posted Thursday, October 08, 2009 by Andrew Loucks
Well Warrior fans it's week #6 of the 2009 Football Season, the first thing I'd like to do is thank everyone who has continued to positively support the Warrior Football Program. All 3 levels of the program have struggled in the first part of the season. I think this is the first week that almost all of our players are healthy. I look forward to the second half of the season. If we can put our injuries and illness behind us, we can have a successful second half of the season.

Both of our developmental programs, Freshman and Junior Varsity, have shown signs of improvement during the first 5 games. I was really impressed with the effort and teamwork the Freshman team displayed during the game against North Point. I excited to see the continued development of this group of guys. The Junior Varsity players showed a true sign of what the term "team" means. With the JV game cancelled due to lack of healthy players, they joined the healthy players of the Varsity to take on an undefeated North Point team. The guys played and work together to play the Eagles tougher than most everyone expected. It just goes to show you, when you put selfish reasons aside, you can be better than people expect.

The biggest keys for the rest of the season is to play with maximum effort every play, not listen to the negative people, and support each other and help each other become successful.
